Released with a high-definition video in March 2019, “Mumegubu” is associated with Al-Madrasatul Qadiria’s 2019 catalog, which also included popular works such as “Khutba ya Ndoa.” The song is often performed by respected voices such as Ustadh Rashid Zungu or Juma Faki, depending on the version.
Al-Madrasatul Qadiria is known for Qaswida performances that combine rhythmic poetry, Islamic teachings, and social guidance. Their songs often address family life, good manners, faith, marriage, and community values through Swahili poetic expression.
The title “Mumegubu” refers to a difficult, fault-finding, or constantly complaining husband. The song advises men to avoid bad temper, ingratitude, and unnecessary conflict at home, encouraging love, patience, good character, and peace within marriage.
