Tanzanian Taarab singer Isha Mashauzi, together with Mashauzi Classic Band, released a celebrated modern Taarab song titled “Kismet.” The song is one of her well-known works, carrying the emotional depth, poetic delivery, and mipasho style that define her music.

“Kismet” was written and composed by Isha Mashauzi herself and produced by Ababuu Mwana Zanzibar at Sofia Records. The audio was released around November 29, 2015, followed by the official HD music video in January 2017. It also served as the lead single from Mashauzi Classic Band’s fifth album.
Isha Mashauzi, whose real name is Isha Ramadhani, is one of Tanzania’s prominent modern Taarab artists. She is known for her powerful voice, strong stage presence, and poetic songs that blend love, social messages, and emotional storytelling.
The title “Kismet” refers to fate or destiny. In the song, Isha reflects on love, acceptance, and the belief that some relationships and life outcomes are already written. Through expressive Taarab poetry, the song carries both emotional reflection and classic mipasho energy.
