“Boombap” is a hard-hitting Tanzanian hip-hop collaboration between rising street rapper Mopalee and veteran lyricist Fido Vato, officially released on April 27, 2026.

The track serves as a tribute to the classic Boom Bap era, echoing the raw, unfiltered sound that defined early hip-hop culture, especially within Arusha’s (Chuga) underground rap scene. “Boombap” celebrates lyrical authenticity, street resilience, and respect for hip-hop’s golden roots.
The release has been praised within Tanzania’s hip-hop community for reviving authentic rap energy and bridging generational styles between old-school and new-school artists. The production is handled by legendary beatmaker P-Funk Majani under Bongo Records, giving the track its gritty, old-school texture. Mixing was done by Licky Touchez, while mastering took place at Noizmekah Studios, ensuring a polished yet rugged sonic feel.
