Congolese music legend Werrason, together with Wenge Musica Maison Mère, released “Solola Bien,” a classic Ndombolo / Congolese Rumba anthem on December 10, 1999. The song serves as the title track of the group’s successful sophomore album, Solola Bien.

Meaning “Speak Properly” or “Talk Well” in Lingala, the track was widely understood as a direct response to JB Mpiana and Wenge BCBG during one of the most famous rivalries in Congolese music. Through sharp lines and commanding delivery, Werrason dismisses his rivals’ claims and reinforces his position within the Kinshasa music scene.
The song features an important generation of Congolese performers, including Ferré Gola, then known as Ferré Chair de Poule, alongside Adolphe Dominguez, Baby Ndombe, and J’us D’été Mulopwe. Its explosive dance section is driven by the animations of Bill Clinton Kalonji and Celeo Scram, with powerful lead guitar from Flamme Kapaya.
Arranged and programmed by Maïka Munan, the track was produced under JPS Production with support from Jean-Pierre Saah. Its success helped the band earn a gold record in France and strengthened Werrason’s status as one of the defining figures of modern Congolese music.
